百人计划教授。化学工程和经济管理双学士(清华大学,1990),生物化工硕士(马里兰大学,1993),分子生物学博士(马里兰大学&CARB-NIST,1996),博士后(加州理工学院Frances Arnold实验室,1996-1999)。
研究方向(research interests):分子定向进化及其应用,包括: (1) 定向进化的基本方法如高通量筛选方法、蛋白质杂交方法;(2)若干重要酶和菌种的分子改造,尤其是与药物和手性化学品的生物制造、生物炼制相关蛋白及菌种;(3)病毒表面蛋白的分解与疫苗及人工抗体的快速制备。目前同时担任《Introductory Molecular Biology》和《基因工程原理与应用》(本科生课程,双语)等课程教学。
研究资助(research funding):包括国家973计划项目“生物催化与生物转化”和“生物炼制细胞工厂的科学基础”,863重点项目“工业酶的分子改造与工程化技术(脂肪酶)”,863项目,自然科学基金,清华百人计划启动基金,清华SARS基金,P&G公司,以及其他国内横向项目。
研究团队(research team): 实验室成员中有来自清华(化工系、化学系、生物系)、浙江大学、华东理工大学、北京化工大学、沈阳药科大学、第一军医大学、郑州大学等学校不同专业背景的学生,这些专业背景包括化学工程、化学、生物、生物工程、制药工程、药学、免疫学、材料等。

Research in Professor Lin’s lab focuses on addressing fundamental technical problems related to directed evolution, and on applying the technology to engineering of various enzymes and bioprocesses. At present, there are three specific areas of research that we are pursuing: (1) development of tools for directed evolution, for example, a high thorough-put autolysis scheme for E. coli cells, and a method for protein shuffling; (2) evolution of useful biocatalysts and pathways, including proteins/enzymes related to biorefinery and for production of fine chemicals; (3) dissection and functional analysis of enzymes and viral proteins. Research in this lab has been supported by the national key basic research (973) program, the national high-tech (863) program, NSFC, and industrial grants. Prof. Lin also has been teaching two undergraduate courses “introductory molecular biology” and “principles and applications of genetic engineering”.
